To give that work a home of its own, I founded the Velaris Foundation for Culture and Art. Velaris was created to give long- term artistic projects a place to grow – projects that combine performance, education and international collaboration.
The foundation’s remit is deliberately broad: to organise concerts, masterclasses and courses, and to support everything that surrounds making music – performing, teaching, and bringing people together. It’s a home for the kind of project that doesn’t fit neatly into a single concert or a single classroom.
